  8:30AM 12:30PM East Side Farmer's Market   St. John's Hospital, the Sangamon County Department of Public Health (SCDPH) and Downtown Springfield, Inc. (DSI) will be opening the East Side Farmers Market at 8:30 am on Monday, July 7. The East Side Farmers' Market will be located in the parking lot of the SCDPH parking lot (2833 South Grand Ave. East). Fresh produce will be sold on Mondays from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm from July 7 through Sept. 29. WIC Coupons, Link, Debit and Credit cards will be accepted.
 
  10:00AM 10:30AM Story Time at the Museum   "Fishy Fun" Story Time. Listen to stories about fish and see specimens from the Illinois State Museum's collections. Join us the 2nd Monday of each month at the Illinois State Museum at 10:00 am for a program designed for preschool children ages 3-5 and their caregivers. Story Time will feature engaging stories and the chance for children to see and learn about objects from the Museum's collections. The program lasts 30-40 minutes. Registration is not required.   7:00PM 9:00PM "The Shadows of Edgar Allan Poe" Auditions   Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) Theatre will hold auditions Monday, Sept. 8 and Tuesday, Sept. 9 for its fall production of "The Shadows of Edgar Allan Poe." The open auditions are being held from 7 to 9 p.m. in Sangamon Hall South, room 0009 on the LLCC-Springfield campus, 5250 Shepherd Road. The play, directed by Mark Hardiman, LLCC professor of theatre, is a devised piece of theatre that will be built by the acting ensemble which will choose from Poe's most well-known and accessible works. Through a collaborative process, the ensemble will develop the performance under Professor Hardiman's direction. Performances begin Friday, Dec. 5 and run three weekends. All roles are open in the production. Auditions include reading from the script and movement exercises. The cast comprises adults and young adults able to play 19 years and older. College students and community members are encouraged to audition. Those interested in backstage duties, stage management, or assistant to the director should drop by auditions as well for a brief conference with the director.
