In for Jim: PILOT for Pensions, Minimum Wage, and More

All this week, Greg Bishop fills in for The Jim Leach Show from 6 to 9 and then the first hour of Bishop On Air from 9 to 10.  Here's what you can expect on Monday's show:

PILOT for pensions

We'll talk with Alderman Joe McMenamin coming up just after 7:00 this morning to get his take on the proposed measure to give more than $2 million to the city's public safety pension funds.  For years, McMenamin has been pushing for more to be done to fund the liability without much help from the Houston Administration.  We'll find out if that's changed when we talk with Ald. McMenamin today after 7.

Minimum Wage

Governor Pat Quinn is going to try and live on minimum wage for a set period of time.  Those of you on fixed incomes ... how do you do it?  Is it coupon crunching, scrounging for change in the couch or relying on public assistance?  Let's talk about how to live a minimalist life on a minimum wage.  Will this stunt build public sentiment towards raising the minimum wage?
