Be sure to catch Saturday Session with Bishop on 970 WMAY, The News and Talk of Springfield from 3 to 7p CST. Listen online at WMAY.com. Being out of town this weekend, we'll have a pre-recorded show. But there will be some fresh content and we'll revisit some past interviews.
Fusion Center FOIA
Something Saturday Session has been railing against for years is finally getting the attention of the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois--Fusion Centers. These are little-known domestic intelligence gathering operations that are known to put people into databases as a threat based on political leanings. Just after 3 we'll talk with Adam Schwartz, senior legal counsel for the ACLU of Illinois about the Freedom of Information Act Requests.
OK City Revisited
Back in April, on the anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing, Saturday Session welcomed in Holland Van Den Nieuwenhof, one of the producers for the film A Noble Lie: Oklahoma City 1995 which exposes the many unanswered questions about that tragic terrorist attack. If you missed that interview, catch the show live or you can grab the podcast here: part 1, part 2.
Fluoride
For too long, we've be complacent in not asking the tough questions about why America is so willing to put fluoride in our drinking water. In the 5 o'clock hour we'll revisit a conversation about fluoride. Be sure to get out the paper and pen and take down notes! Want a copy of the interviews? Email Bishop@WMAY.com with your information and we'll shoot it on over.
Rollins in Springfield
Black Flag founder, spoken word master, world traveler, and probably one of the most intense dudes out there--Henry Rollins will be in town October 11th on his Capitalism tour to talk about what it means to be an American. We'll talk to Rollins about his thoughts on capitalism, politics, compassion and his love of Springfield native Abraham Lincoln. Don't miss it!
