Session Show Brief: Benghazi, Durbin and Secession

It's another truncated Saturday Session, expected to pick up at 5p. Listen live online at We'll talk about Benghazi, Petreaus, Durbin, Succession and more.

Setting the record straight

How can we not talk about the craziness that is the Benghazi story. It's not about Petraeus' sex scandal, it's about what he knew and eventually told a group on Capital Hill behind closed doors. The story now goes that he had initially known it was a terror attack from the get go, but someone within the administration changed the narrative to be about an anti-Muslim YouTube video. It's reported that "the administration withheld the suspected role of al-Qaida affiliates to avoid tipping them off."

We'll talk extensively about who knew what when and how the sex scandal is a huge distraction from the important conversation of foreign policy and what the CIA is doing around the world.

Durbin's take

Durbin talking with the media after Friday's Forum

Senator Dick Durbin was in Springfield Friday to talk to the Citizens Club of Springfield. A large part of that forum focused on the recent elections and the looming fiscal cliff.

Durbin also took some time with the media afterwards to field questions on a variety of things. We'll hear Durbin talk about Benghazi (mp3 download), the Petraeus affair (mp3 download) and also his thoughts on the fiscal cliff and how it is manufactured (mp3 download).

Also, we'll hear a segment from the forum where an audience member asked a question about the secessionist movement (mp3 download). Everyone gets a big laugh, but is there something to say when people are so fed up they are willing to start from scratch, as our forefathers did in 1776?

Ron Paul's farewell address

We'll talk about the historic speech that spells out so clearly the tyranny this country faces. Congressman Ron Paul will be sorely missed in Washington by liberty lovers across the country.
