Not a fan of the proposed assault weapons ban being pushed in the State Senate ... Find out who your elected Illinois state representative and state senators are by calling 217-782-4141. Then, contact your state representative and state senator.
Now time for some sarcasm.
"951 traffic fatalities in Illinois in 2012 ... better ban roads, cars, drivers, and any gas tanks that hold more than 10 gallons. [sarcasm]"
What's not sarcastic is this: Gun control advocates ultimate goal, as portrayed by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, is to get all the guns out of the hands of citizens.
Watch below as back in 1995 Feinstien talks about how she wanted to make Mr. and Mrs. America turn their guns in, but she didn't have the votes.
She obviously hasn't a clue on why the Second Amendment is in place (regardless of what the courts say ... their opinions change). Listen to this podcast for a better understanding of what a liberty-minded individual thinks the Second Amendment means.
Here in Illinois, instead of working on legislation the courts directed the General Assembly to create for some kind of firearm carry legislation, they move to ban a slew of guns and gun accessories.
Under the proposed Illinois ban, shotguns with handles would be illegal.
"Shotguns don't kill people ... shotgun handles kill people. Ban all shotgun handles [more sarcasm]"
Essentially, the Second Amendment in Illinois is severely being neutered.
As reported yesterday, the proposal would ban any pistol that weighs more than 50 ounces (unloaded) ... the only guns allowed by law would be bolt action, slide action, pump action. No rifle that has a magazine will be allowed under the proposed ban. No magazine (even clips for pistols) over 10 rounds would be allowed by law. No shotgun with a handle (as pictured above) would be legal. No rifle with burn guards on the barrels or a handle on the barrel that will prevent the operator from burning themselves would be allowed.
It's time to contact your elected representatives and tell them to grow a backbone and stand up to the fantasy that banning certain accessories will make everyone safe.

Have your children call them. Flood their phone lines with your comments. Be courteous, but strong in expressing your opposition to an assault weapons ban or on anything that would infringe upon the Second Amendment.
Make it happen!
