Not This Time ... But Next?

The legislation to instate an assault weapons ban in Illinois has been postponed ... for now.

During a Sunday afternoon hearing for a house amendment on legislation about parole officers, assault weapons ban sponsor Elaine Nekritz said there would more than likely not be a vote this General Assembly.  Watch video below or at this link:

That doesn't mean that the move to put in place more strict limits on what kinds of firearms citizens can keep is far from over ... certain members of the General Assembly are ready to implement a ban, including Governor Pat Quinn!

Illinois is not out of the woods by far.

Those who want to uphold the Second Amendment as something that "shall not be infringed," must continue to be ever vigilant and put the political pressure on.

If you thought it was time to relax after the Lame Duck session, think again. There will be more of an effort from certain lawmakers in Illinois.  It goes further, though.

There's also the dreaded new congress in DC.  The same crew, give or take some new blood here and there, are still on the floor trying to put together some kind of assault weapons ban.

That with the UN's Arms Trade Treaty barreling down at us some time in March ... now is not the time to let your guard down.

Get off the couch, get educated about the issues and make some calls!
