And it's going to be explosive!
After having the last few weeks worth of live programs being preempted by the National Football League playoffs, The first live show of 2013 will be unapologetic. Don't miss it!
There'll be some opening statements, talk about the "conspiracy theory trap," get a recap of today's Gun Appreciation Day at the state capital, a conversation with Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America, and News on the March. Be sure to catch every minute of the program beginning at 3p CST on 970 WMAY, The News and Talk of Springfield.
To Start With ...
It's been several weeks since Saturday Session has been able to get on the airwaves to combat loads of misinformation, ignorance, and propaganda.
We'll start with some comments directed at those that want follow and apologize for authoritarianism. Among those pre-prepared opening comments:
"I don't preach gun control. Why? Because I wouldn't want someone preaching gun control to me. Just as I don't preach increasing taxes because I don't want someone preaching to take more of my money to fund an incompetent government. But sadly, there are plenty of people out there willing to get on an artificial pedestal in order to tell you what to do. These same people want to tell you how to live your life. They want to punish you for the mistakes of others."

Rally For Your Rights
Today saw Gun Appreciation Day at state capitals around the country, including right here in good old Springfield, Illinois, home of one of the most corrupt legislatures in the country were the right to keep and bear arms without punishment by the state has effectively been legislated away.
We'll review some of the happenings and maybe hear from some participants in the rally.
If you were there, be sure to call the show live at 217-629-7970 and share your appreciation of guns with the audience.
On Target with Pratt
|Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America GunOwners.org|
Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America will be on at 4p CST to talk about all the craziness from the past three weeks.
We'll cover the President's call for an assault weapons ban, ban of magazines holding more than 10 rounds and universal background checks ... but we'll also get into some of the intricacies of President Obama's 23 executive orders.
What can states do about it? We'll talk with Mr. Pratt about some efforts to secure the Second Amendment in other states.
Is it possible to secure the Second Amendment in Illinois from an ever encroaching Federal Government?
Conspiracy Theory Trap
Then we'll covers White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs administrator Cass Sunstein's 2008 journal article about conspiracy theories and how the government should combat them. Read it your self and follow along here.
A sample of the article's abstract says conspiracy theorists are extremists who will not be swayed because they have a crippled epistemology and the:
"best response consists in cognitive infiltration of extremist groups. Various policy dilemmas, such as the question whether it is better for government to rebut conspiracy theories or to ignore them, are explored in this light."
Are some of the tactics discussed in Sunstein's article being employed by the Federal Government to try and discredit people calling the administration out for using the Sandy Hook shooting tragedy for gun control? Becasue regardless of what happened there, it has given us this ridiculous assertion that gun owners rights to bear arms should be infringed upon.
It's not the first or only time that so-called "conspiracy theorists," or rather people who question the official story, had to be combated by the government.
We'll do a brief analysis of the origins of the pejorative term "conspiracy theories."
NOTM & Next Week
If there's time, we'll get to News on the March and where do we even begin? Three weeks of not being live and so much has happened. We'll talk about as much as we can and take your phone calls.
Next week we're going to do an expose on the Springfield's Sustainable Design Assessment Team with the author of Behind the Green Mask: UN Agenda 21, Rosa Korie.
