Today on Saturday Session: Preview of next week's hearing at the state capital on guns with Larry Pratt and also a few points from Sangamon County Sheriff Neil Williamson, Dorner afterwards, meteors and asteroids oh my! And, we've got to get into the whole "Last Pope" prophecy thing ... that's all ahead when Saturday Session goes live at 3p CST only on 970 WMAY, The News and Talk of Springfield!
|Larry Pratt from Gun Owners of America|
Gun Owners of America
Coming out with guns a blazin', Gun Owners of America's Larry Pratt will join the show to talk about the frightening display that was President Obama's State of the Union Address. We'll talk about the perverse manipulation of emotions to push for votes on infringing upon the Second Amendment rights of Americans.
Also, while Larry is on the line we'll get his take on the gun control proposals that are popping up all around the country (here, here and here), plus we'll get insight into the next week's hearing at the Illinois capital building--what does Larry think gun owners of America should do about that. Also, we'll get Larry's take on the case of Donnell Jackson that will get a hearing next week as well.
And, why not, we'll talk about the beginnings of the National Rifle Association.
The Sheriff's take
This week positive news that the Illinois Sheriff's Association came out to oppose a ban on an assault weapons ban is very welcomed. It seems that an overwhelming majority of sheriff's from Illinois' 102 counties don't think that congress should infringe on American's second amendment rights.
We'll hear from Sangamon County Sheriff Neil Williamson about his stance on the issue. Sure he and other sheriffs oppose a ban, but would they enforce it if certain weapons become banned? And what does the sheriff think would happen if there ever was confiscation, as some bills across the country in several states calls for. You don't want to miss this Saturday Session exclusive!
|An aerial shot of the fire where Dorner's body was found|
We now live in a world where "we're going to burn this mother f**ker down" does not mean that law enforcement are going to use fire to burn something down. The display we saw unfold in California this week is, quite frankly, another sign of just how far things have come. Christopher Dorner never saw a day in court. He never had evidence presented in front of a jury, or even had a chance to plead innocent, or guilty!
Yet, it's apparent in scanner audio that police burned the cabin down where Dorner was held up.
News on the March
Here in Springfield, some people became US citizens the legal way. We've gotta highlight that! We've also got to cover the crazy celestial happenings, with the meteor blowing up over Russia and the massive asteroid nearly shaving planet earth. Also, ready for a laugh? I've got three words ... Jesse. Jackson. Jr. lolz! We'll open the lines on that, also we'll get into an associated press article about psychotropic drugs in the water and what that does to fish--just imagine what it does the humans. Oh, and Al Gore is talking about atmospheric geo-engineering (also known as chemtrails). Also, we'll have to get into the prophecy of Malachy, where back in the twelfth century a man who was sainted by the church prophesied that there would be only 112 more popes. Benedict the XVI is the 111th since Malachy's prophecy. Who will be the last Pope and does that mean the end of the world or just the end of the church?
