20 Years Ago Today ...

Twenty years ago today, February 26, 1993, a bomb went off in a garage underneath one of the World Trade Center buildings in New York.

The Associated Press says:

NEW YORK (AP) — Everyone remembers 9/11 but today marks the 20th anniversary of the first terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. A noontime ceremony is planned to honor the six people who died in the 1993 blast in a garage below one of the twin towers. More than 1,000 people were injured. Six Islamic extremists were convicted of carrying out the bombing, including mastermind Ramzi Yousef.

Very interesting CBS News video from 1993 with a quote concerning the FBI saying "they discussed secretly substituting harmless powder for the explosives, but they didn't" ...

6 people died, 1000 were injured ... because the FBI let the plot go forward.

Good question.

Anyone from the FBI held accountable for the '93 bombing?

Good question.

Keep in mind that there are more FBI terror plots with the Bureau busting plots their informants cook up.  But they are quick to report "the public was never at any risk."

Wish that was the case back in 1993.
