Tonight on the show
Back from a week off, Saturday Session is ready to attack the issues head on. We'll talk about the guns, drones, marijuana, Wall Street and more! Be sure to catch Saturday Session live from 3 to 7p CST on 970 WMAY, The News and Talk of Springfield.

At the top of the show we'll cover what happened with IGOLD--Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day. That massive lobbying effort coordinated across the state to bring responsible gun owners to lobby their lawmakers in Springfield on the issue of Illinois' carry ban and also to push to ban certain types of semi-automatic weapons. We'll hear from NRA lobbyist Todd Vandermyde and also some people who were integral in getting a federal appeals court to tell Illinois to craft some kind of carry law. If you couldn't make the rally at the Prairie Capital Convention Center Wednesday, Saturday Session has you covered!
Then we'll talk about Rand Paul's filibuster and the importance of forcing the issue into the public sphere about drones and how the government can use them against citizens (see hour 10 here). The Kentucky Senator ruffled a ton of feathers this week by taking to the Senate Floor. When Senator John McCain comes out and criticizes something you're probably doing it right--so keep it up, Rand! We'll also air an interview with State Senator Daniel Biss about what is going on with the drone conversation in Illinois--just how will Illinois law enforcement be able to use drones on citizens? We'll keep you informed!
Illinois' pot laws
Another news piece we'll focus on is a bill that made it through committee to start up a pilot program for medicinal marijuana. Dan Linn from The Illinois Chapter of the National Organization for the Reformation of Marijuana Laws will join the show to talk about the latest efforts to reform those laws. We'll also talk about the impacts that marijuana laws have on society from tax-payer prisons housing non-violent offenders to the sick looking to the black market for natural medicine.
In the final hour we'll be joined by economist Michael Schussele to talk about the latest economic numbers where the national unemployment rate ticked down, but Illinois' ticked up. Also, what's going on with Wall Street. It had an amazing week. Are things turning around, or are we just merely seeing some kind of artificial inflation by the Fed?
Then we'll do News on the March--rapid fire, under-reported news from this past week with your phone calls! Saturday Session, each Saturday from 3 to 7p CST only on 970 WMAY, The News and Talk of Springfield.
