Distractions, National ID, Concealed Carry When? and More!

Coming up with Bishop On Air: Climate change and other distractions, national ID card, Concealed carry when? plus a Springfield City Council preview ... that's all ahead when from 10 to noon with Bishop On Air on 970 WMAY, The News and Talk of Springfield.

Distractions

We'll review the President Obama's plan to curb what's now being dubbed "Climate Change." This is referring to the process many want to term man-made global warming. Facts and figures will be dragged out on both sides of the debate to push a political point, but we'll go beyond that to look at what the true implications of some of the proposals are and what the eventual outcome will be. Here's a hint: It's gonna cost you more to get the energy you need.

This, along with other things, is a great distraction from the fact that the government is snooping on you, your grandparents, your children and more than likely lawmakers, judges and other power-holders who, if compromised, could do very damaging things to our freedoms. It's time to get our priorities in order and call out corruption -- even in the face of being called a climate change denier.

National ID

We'll also get into the discussion over the immigration bill that is making the rounds in DC. What are some of the things not being discussed? Why is there little talk about the prospects of a national ID card system? In a time when the federal government continues to snoop on citizens that aren't suspected of terror and when the IRS is targeting political groups from all over the spectrum, should be entrust them with a national ID database of citizens?

Concealed carry when?

Governor Pat Quinn still has not signed a law allowing concealed carry in the state of Illinois. What this means is the right to bear arms without being prosecuted is uncertain. There are some state's attorney's through Illinois that are standing up saying "we will not prosecute," but that's only a handful. We'll talk about concealed carry and also air the latest from the Gun-Free Zone series Part 6: The Prosecution. Watch that video below:

Council preview

We'll also preview what's coming up with the Springfield City Council tonight.  You can find out yourself by getting the agenda for Committee of the Whole meeting tonight here (and a special full council meeting agenda can be found here).
