Greg Bishop takes over the airwaves from 10 to noon today with Bishop On Air. Coming up, a breakdown of the NSA vote, Calvin Christian's arrest record and News on the March. Be sure to listen from 10 to noon only on 970 WMAY, The News and Talk of Springfield.
House votes for NSA
We'll review the vote in the US House where an amendment to curb the NSA's spying of Americans failed. Supporters of the unreasonable seizure of Americans communications say that the program has stopped terror attacks. How many? Is it dozen? Is it 4? Is it 900? How many? I call B.S. It's time to turn up the heat and hold congressmen accountable for standing by while the 4th Amendment is blatantly violated.
The arrest record
I've got over 80 pages of Springfield Police Reports through FOIA, most of them deal directly with traffic stops and arrests of Calvin Christian. He's the Pure News reporter who's suing the city over the destruction of Internal Affairs files and also claiming a conspiracy to harass in a separate lawsuit. We'll delve into some of the reports and what they mean. Are there any patterns we can discern? In all fairness, Christian says "police reports are just one side of the story" and he "looks forward to the entire story being heard in court."
News on the March
If there's time, we'll cover run the gauntlet of news you should know about with News on the March.
