Back from a three-day weekend (completely unheard of in this business), Greg Bishop is live from 10 to noon. Today, Congressman Rodney Davis joins the airwaves to talk about the struggles of small business. And, also joining the show today, Springfield Alderman Sam Cahnman with a preview of tonight's Springfield City Council Meeting and a few other issues. That's all ahead with Bishop On Air on 970 WMAY, The News and Talk of Springfield.
Illinois' gun laws
Here we go again ... another series of ridiculous gun laws before Illinoisans even have the right to carry. I know what you're saying. "But Bishop, the state passed a law allowing concealed carry." Raise your hand you have a permit. That's what I thought. In the meantime, some state lawmakers want to change the law already while Gov. Quinn signs a couple new gun laws. We'll get the latest and take your calls about the absurdity.
Small biz problems
Congressman Rodney Davis is in town today at Ace Sign Company to tour the site and then to have a roundtable discussion with other small businesses. What were their concerns? And, what can congress do about it? With Illinois' unemployment rate still above the national average, we'll hear from the congressman just after 10:30 today with Bishop On Air.
Tonight is a Springfield City Council Meeting with some interesting things on both the consent and debate agendas. We'll talk with Ward 5 Alderman Sam Cahnman about some of those and also pick his brain about a few other things related to city business. And, we'll give Sam a chance to talk about the Sam Cahnman Teen Tan Ban that has now gone state wide. That's just after 11.
News on the March
We'll have a hodgepodge of things on the plate to update you on with News on the March in the final few segments of today's program.
