Greg Bishop takes over the airwaves from 10 to noon on 970 WMAY, The News and Talk of Springfield. With Bishop On Air, we'll talk the latest international news and issues involving education. That's all ahead!
Crossing the red line
Syria is back in the limelight. We'll talk about some of the latest news and developments as it appears likely a western backed attack is imminent. Even without the UN investigation complete, the rhetoric is boiling over. Why won't the mainstream even hint at the possibility of western intelligence being involved in the chemical attack? The fact they won't postulate that should be very suspicious.
Home schooling Illinois
With a ton of talk about public education funding in Illinois, and in particular in Springfield District 186, what about the other side of education ... the private side? We'll talk about the issues facing home schooling in Illinois with Jeffery Lewis, an attorney who works with Illinois Christian Home Educators.
Tax Increment Finance districts are touted as helping spur on economic development, but they also divert revenue away from other taxing bodies like public schools. With at least one TIF expiring and a payout to the Springfield school district, we'll welcome Springfield Budget Director Bill McCarty to the airwaves to talk about the expiring TIF and how much will be going to the district's struggling finances.
Republican Liberty Caucus
Just after 11, we'll be joined by Scott Davis who is spearheading an effort to create the Republican Liberty Caucus in Illinois. We'll pick Davis' brain about what he wants to do with the group. Get more info about the planned caucus here.
