Greg Bishop Contact Greg Bishop

Morning-drive news anchor and reporter, Greg Bishop also hosts Bishop On Air, Weekdays from 10 to noon, CST.

My Pages:

Health Scare Insurance, True Horror Stories, and the DSM V

Coming up on the show, we'll talk about some horror stories. Everything from the skeleton that took to congress to be grilled to the judge in Southern Illinois who ruled on a first-degree murder retrial a few days after overseeing the cocain overdose death of a colleague. We'll also be joined by Dr. Jeff Bennet from the Illinois Psychiatric Society about the latest DSM release. That's ahead with open phones on Bishop On Air.

Health scare insurance

After the Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week, we'll jump right into a review of the hearing on congress. Here are some brief highlights of Kathleen Sabelius' hearing in DC.  The Secretary of Health and Human Services assures congress that the site will be ready by the end of November.  Meanwhile, another "mistake" by the president--he said you can sign up by phone.  Not true in Illinois.  The individual mandate is barelling down at us very soon.  Are you scared yet?

True horror stories

We'll also talk about the place where ordinances go to die up in Chicago, and in particular, how a group is railing against Aldermen up there to bring out of the rules committee a measure that would take TIF money and give it back to their struggling schools.

If you haven't heard the latest details about the now dethroned judge down in the Belleville area, be sure to tune in for all the bizarre and gory details. Essentially, the horror story of a judge being on heroin with another southern Illinois county official who died of cocaine overdose oversaw a retrial of a first-degree murder case a few days after the overdose death. Could you imagine the horror felt in that court room?

The latest Diagnostic and Statistical Manual is out. What is it and why is it important? Also, what's different from the DSM V and the DSM IV? We'll talk with Dr. Jeff Bennett from the Illinois Psychiatric Society about the difference on this spooky Halloween.
