Coming up, we'll talk the latest Obamacare numbers, hear from Sangamon County Undersheriff Jack Campbell, talk with an anti tobacco-ban activist and more.
The number seems laughable--Only 1,370 people have enrolled in Obama care from Illinois. The administration had hoped tens of thousands more would have registered, but that wasn't the case. We'll talk with the Illinois Policy Institutes' Health Policy Director Naomi Lopez-Bauman on the law's impact here in Illinois and nationally. Is there any hope for better insurance options or are we going to suffer this severely injured behemoth for the foreseeable future?
Undersheriff Jack Campbell has a 10 o'clock press conference today at the county building where he is set to make a campaign announcement. What will it be? We're set to be joined by Campbell immediately following the conference to hear all about it. We'll get political with a candidate for the top law enforcement job in the county, coming up sometime after 10:30. Stay tuned!
Students for Liberty
The tobacco ban proposal at UIS is back on the air today as we welcome Tom Funfsinn, a student at UIS and also a member of Students for Liberty, to talk about his group's efforts to oppose the ban. We'll find out if he is a lobbyist for the big tobacco companies or if he's merely encouraging people to exercise their rights to personal choice.
