Greg Bishop hosts a bit of a different program on this cold winter day. We'll be in-studio to talk the life and times of Fred Puglia. Don't miss this trip down memory lane of one of Springfield's most fascinating characters! That's ahead with Bishop On Air on 970 WMAY, The News and Talk of Springfield!
His last day at Springfield City Hall as the Director of the Visitor's and Convention Bureau was last week, and it was Fred Puglia's second go around at the job. People in the area might know Fred's name as being associated with area events like The Decatur Celebration or Lincoln Fest or even the various Elvis competitions, but today we'll get into the real history of Fred Puglia.
We'll start all the way back when Fred was a kid growing up in the Bronx, then his time working at the New York Yankees stadium as a vendor, and his time at the University of Dayton working for a famous TV host.
Then we'll get into the incredible lineup of artists Fred helped manage and book at venues around the Midwest. Be sure to tune in for some great memories and incredbile stories about the music of the early 60s into the 70s.
Plus, we'll review the amazing events Fred has initiated and discover what's next in the world of Mr. Puglia!
