Take the video games away from the kids today and plop them in front of the radio for Bishop On Air as we prepare to talk Springfield's finances with Budget Director Bill McCarty, firearm education with Don Gwinn, the new president of the Sangamon County Rifle Association, and get into libertarian philosophy with renowned activist Adam Kokesh. There will be a quiz!
It comes with great excitement to reiterate what was shared by Fritz Pfister this morning during "Your Daily Dose of Reality," Bishop On Air will be extended from 2 hours to 3! Coming at you next week you can catch Greg Bishop live from 9 to noon, Monday through Friday! This new venture means more liberty to pour through the airwaves! Expect more content during Wednesdays, after the weekly Council Roundup (which will start at 9am Wednesdays) and an hour Friday's before the Man Cave at 10pm. Stay with 970 WMAY for a perspective that questions authority and fights the mainstream. With Bishop On Air, it's not right vs. left, it's Liberty vs. Tyranny!
At the top of the hour, Springfield Budget Director Bill McCarty will join the show to discuss several things, including the most recent bond issuance. We'll also talk about the proposed change for sick time payout for city employees. Plus we'll spend a good chunk of time to discuss the comparisons and contrasts between a proposed contract investigator to look into discrepancies within the city or if Springfield needs to reinstate the inspector general. That's ahead right at the top of the show.
County Rifle Association
Just after 10:30, Bishop will be joined by the new president of the Sangamon County Rifle Association Don Gwinn. Gwinn takes over the post after former SCRA president Jim Butler, who headed the group for 20 years. We'll talk with Gwinn about his plans for the local group. We'll also talk about what the SCRA plans to do to address a recent study that reveals an alarming number of children getting injured by firearms. Surely this will be the first of many conversations with the new president of the SCRA.
Adam Vs. The Man
The last time Bishop talked with libertarian activist and Iraq War veteran Adam Kokesh was early last year when he was planning an open carry rally in Washington DC. That rally eventually fell apart because of DC's strict anti-gun laws, but Kokesh took to DC streets not far from the White House and loaded a shotgun on video while saying "We will not be silent. We will not obey. We will not allow our government to destroy our humanity. We are the final American revolution. See you next Independence Day." Watch that video here:
That action eventually meant a raid of his place along with felony charges. Now the air has lifted slightly, we'll talk with Kokesh about his trials and his next moves. We'll also talk with Adam about his work with the new venture Liberty.me.
If there's time, we'll open up the conversation to cover a variety of stories, including railing against the Mainstream Media for their obsession over celebrity, the latest NSA news, and maybe GMO labeling in Illinois. That's all ahead with Bishop On Air.
