Today begins an extremely exciting opportunity to broadcast from probably the most prestigious place in the capital city -- no, not the State Capital -- Bishop On Air broadcasts from the Lincoln Reading Room at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum!
Shhhhh, we're in the library
Though 970 WMAY begins Thursday morning broadcasts from the Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum's Lincoln Reading Room, we won't be silenced! Today's broadcast of Bishop On Air will be from 10 to noon, but beginning next week the show airs for three hours from 9 to noon! Throughout the broadcasts in the weeks and months to come, we'll delve into the rich history of Lincoln's life and the importance of that era. We'll also bring your voice to the airwaves on the important topics of the day. That in combination with guests will make the Thursday morning broadcasts appointment listening! Don't miss it!
After talking with Sangamon/Menard Counties Crimestopper Coordinator Matt Goulet about the Crime of the Week, Springfield Ward 7 Alderman Joe McMenamin will join the airwaves to discuss several key issues facing the capital city: Increased pension obligations from pay spikes and also rail relocation. Alderman McMenamin is known for not holding back on what needs to be said, and it will be loud as ever live from the Library's reading room!
With the final hour of the show, we'll kick open the phones for you to sound off with what's on your mind. Do you want to discuss the president's State of the Union or maybe the governor's State of the State, or how about some city hall issues? You make the call!
