Back at it for another week, Greg Bishop hosts Bishop On Air from 9 to noon on 970 WMAY, The News and Talk of Springfield. Today we'll talk poor habbits of highly ineffective public sector employees, CPAC, domestic spying, the state's budget, the school district's budget, and more! Be sure to sound off on the important issues of the day with Bishop On Air on 970 WMAY, The News and Talk of Springfield.
On the job
With the news of a Secretary of State employee being disciplined for using his state issued vehicle to do personal and political work on state time and for obviously lying on his time cards about being at work, we'll talk about a new book I'm (not really) working on titled Poor Habits of Highly Ineffective Public Sector Employees. What kind of absolutely ridiculous things have you seen going on in public sector employment you know wouldn't pass the sanity test in the private sector.
School's tech budget
With severe cuts to District 186's budget for things like Macbook laptops (can they get anything more expensive?), the question is how much technology should be used in classrooms? Should they instead isolate technology to a specific class or instead have tablets and computers for every student in the district? Budget realities are trending to a more austere perspective, but at what costs? Parents ... sound off on what you want the district to do with technology.
News on the March
We'll talk ATVs, Concealed Carry, NSA spying on you and spying on the spies, CPAC, the latest on the disappearance of the Malaysian 777 and more. Don't miss it!
