Jim Leach Contact Jim Leach

Jim Leach is a lifelong Springfield resident whose first radio gig was at WMAY -- in 1983! After a stint as a reporter at Channel 20, he rejoined the station part-time in 1990, and began working there full-time in 1995. A year later, he began hosting his daily talk show. These days, Springfield wakes up with Jim and his unique blend of fiery conversation, newsmaking interviews, hard-hitting facts and unbridled opinion. Jim is a multiple winner of the Illinois Broadcasters Association Silver Dome Award and the Illinois Times Readers' Choice Award.

Today's Show: Wednesday, November 14, 2012

Senate GOP leader Christine Radogno, facing a leadership challenge, says the last thing the party needs is "an in-your-face, confrontational, white, downstate male" running the caucus.  Speaking as an in-your-face, confrontational, white, downstate male, I'm a little offended.  But is she, in fact, right?

We'll also talk about the push by some for secession after President Obama's win last week.  Hey, if they've got a petition to secede, I'll sign it for them -- let's get all the slouchebags* out of our country and let 'em start their own.

(*"Slouchebags" is an actual word that I made up just yesterday. Look it up.)
