Springfield’s Enos School is now on a list of the state’s most endangered historic sites, even as school district officials make plans to swing the wrecking ball.
Enos Elementary is more than 100 years old, but district officials say it would be too costly to renovate, and instead plan to tear it down once a new school is built on the property.
Landmarks Illinois issues the list each year in hopes of spurring action to save the historic structures.
