County Offers Mass Transit For Areas Outside Springfield

Mass transit… it isn’t just for the city anymore.

 

The Sangamon County Board has given a green light to a rural transportation system that would let county residents call to get rides.

 

The transit would be provided by social service agencies like Senior Services, which already provide rides to their own clients. The program is being funded by federal grants, not county tax dollars.
