A Jerome police officer... who is also the son of Jerome’s village president... has been placed on leave and is under investigation by more than one agency.
Steven Stirmell was placed on leave Thursday, as investigations continue through the State’s Attorney’s Office, the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, and possibly other agencies.
A source tells 970 WMAY News that the investigation is looking into allegations of misuse of Stirmell’s police powers.
He is the son of Jerome village president Harry Stirmell.
