City Officials To Step Up Enforcement of the Downtown Panhandling Ordinance

Begging for money downtown is illegal in Springfield, and city officials plan to get more aggressive in the enforcement of that law.

The city will be stepping up enforcement of the panhandling laws as well as making sure that habitual aggressive panhandlers face stiffer fines and charges.
