Senate Democrats Release Budget Proposal

Illinois Senate Democrats have put forward a budget plan that is smaller than Governor Pat Quinn’s proposal… but larger than the numbers offered by Democrats in the Illinois House. 

 

For example, the Senate proposal would keep education spending flat… compared to the House plan that cuts 250-million dollars from schools. 

 

 Both chambers are scrambling to pass a budget by the May 31st deadline.
