Springfield's Diocese Joins Others In Suit Against Obama Admin

Springfield’s Catholic diocese is one of 43 plaintiffs around the country filing suit over the Obama administration’s rule requiring insurance companies to cover birth control.

 

Springfield Bishop Thomas John Paprocki says the rule would require most Catholic-affiliated businesses and organizations to go against the teachings of their faith.

 

The Springfield lawsuit and the others claim the new rule is an unconstitutional violation of religious freedom.
