Home sales and prices were up in 2012, according to the Capital Area Association of Realtors, despite a decline of sales in December.
Year-to-date, home sales were up 9.4 percent over 2011, with just over 3,500 homes sold.
The median sales price was up slightly from the previous year.
According to a release from the realty group, new construction sales were up nearly 4 percent setting a record.
Meanwhile, the outlook for 2013 is cautiously optimistic and is dependent upon continued improvement to the Springfield area economy.
