The new legislative session is underway… with most of the same looming issues as the last session.
Topping that list is pension reform, after lawmakers could not agree on a plan during the “lame duck” session earlier this week.
Two new Democratic lawmakers who now represent the Springfield area… Representative Sue Scherer and Senator Andy Manar… are not committing to any specific plan at this point.
Both say the state should keep its promises to workers and retirees, but both say they are open to a wide range of ideas for fixing the problem.
