The Kidzeum of Health and Science appears to have found its new downtown home.
Mayor Mike Houston made the announcement during the annual State of Downtown speech Wednesday night at the Hilton.
The Kidzeum had previously been located downtown in the 1990s, when it was known as the Springfield Children’s Museum.
Now it hopes to move into the former Schnepp and Barnes print shop in the 400 block of East Adams.
The non-profit organization is hoping to use TIF district funds to support the project, with a goal of reopening the museum in the next two years.
