Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Train

A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a train Friday morning in Curran.

57-year-old Darrell Jones of New Berlin was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sangamon County Sheriff Neil Williamson says the train crew reported the incident immediately after it happened. The sheriff’s department is continuing to investigate the circumstances.
