A Springfield-area lawmaker is pledging that the concerns of local law enforcement will be heard at the Statehouse.
Democrat Sue Scherer met last week with Sangamon County Sheriff Neil Williamson and Springfield police chief Robert Williams.
She says the discussion included issues ranging from east-side violence to school safety.
In a statement issued after the meeting, Scherer did not commit to any specific solutions to those problems… other than to renew her support for a law to allow citizens to carry concealed weapons.
