LaHood Stepping Down As U.S. Transportation Secretary

U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood has announced that he will resign from his Obama Administration post and return home to Illinois.

 

The former congressman from Peoria made headlines as a high-profile Republican serving in the Democratic President's cabinet. 

 

He says he has no plans to seek public office once he returns to Central Illinois.
