Former Governor George Ryan will be halfway to freedom later today.
Ryan is set to be released from a federal prison in Indiana, where he has served most of a six-and-a-half year sentence on corruption charges.
But Ryan will remain in federal custody for a while longer.
He’ll be required to live at a Chicago halfway house, where he will have to hold down a job during the day and attend “life skills” classes.
Ryan may only be there for a matter of weeks before he’s allowed to return home to Kankakee.
